There are oh so many joys to being pregnant, none of which come in the last few weeks prior to delivery, I might add. Today, I was introduced to yet another one. I was pleasantly surprised to find that my body is finally responding to countless contractions I've experienced over the last 72 hours. That is until my doctor decided that I'd progressed far enough for him to attempt some more "aggressive" methods of natural induction. I vaguely recall at one point during my exam, requesting a stick on which to bite down, but surprisingly enough, was not provided with one.
I was told, however, that the procedure ought to get labor going within the next few days, if not by this evening. Seeing as it is now 10:50 pm and my contractions have not become regular as of yet, I think it's safe to assume that today will not be the day. We will see what happens in the next few.
If for some reason, baby is not here by next Tuesday, the doctor will induce me and we will get to meet our little man...finally!

I had that same procedure down with a couple of mine. Just opt for the induction. It is so less painful (I have other words for it, but I don't think they should be shared). Good luck. He'll come out soon enough and the fun begins.
I had that done too, but it didn't work for me either. Then again, I'm the one who had to be induced both times, because I went past my due date both times. You have been contracting, so it just may work for you. Either way, it won't go past next week. There is an end. Hang in there. The end is the worst, isn't it?
Ohhhh, I had that done with Kellan (that was after everyone thought that I was going to have him early and I was told to stay off my feet ;) Apparently he had decided to stay put for awhile and even after that um…horrible procedure and walking seven miles...I still had to be induced :) Fun times...
Yes, Praise God there is an end and for that I'll always be grateful ;)
